Bewley

I should really start by shouting about my comic strip a bit. The new Bewley website only went up recently after a long time sitting at the back of my computer waiting for finishing touches. It's there now though. Any comments are welcome on the guestbook in the site. Hope you like it.

Bewley features in the Express every Saturday and has done for about 6 years now. I'm in the process of trying to sort out a book deal and get something on the shelves. Although chance are that if I do get something out there it will probably only be available from the internet to begin with.
The strip is based around a family of blue birds (maybe ducks, I've never been too sure) - mum, dad, the twins and an egg. It's kept me busy for a long time now and I still enjoy drawing it. There's something very satisfying about having total control over their world, from idea to completion.
I'll probably try and put some sketches up from time to time as well as links to other cartoon sites that make me smile.

Nice

I think some sketches would be a good thing to put on your blog, maybe some lifedrawing.

Hi Ant,

Firstly I just want to say I love your work and only by chance came across it while googling my name.

I found your Bewley Blog and read Bewley Kaye's comment about spending half her life coming to terms living with her name and then finding a comical cartoon named after it. That made me laugh because my christian name is Bewley too and have had to spend all my life trying to tell people how to pronounce it, what it means, where it came from, why my Father and Grandfather had it and answering to that same old chestnut..."Isn't that supposed to be a girls name?" lol

Anyhow I am a devoted fan now and will follow your Bewley, who's life funny enough seems to mimics my own, especially the strip you drew where he wants his family to go with him to an art gallery to get some culture and ends up going alone with his egg.

You sure we don't know each other from somewhere? I feel as though your art is imitating my life somehow. lol

Cheers and good luck with your Bewley.
